Kristian's Quilt Puzzle Box

This quilt is based on a puzzle box design by Brigitte from ZEN CHIC that was posted on moda bake shop. I made it from a few fabrics in my stash including some echino by Etsuko Furuya.

It is a gift for Kristian who was born pink and healthy a month ago.

I hand quilted around the rectangular detail in each block with some pink, green and yellow thread that I inherited from my grandmother.

Although imperfect, the hand stitching came through nicely on the back of the quilt.

I added a strip of scraps to the back and a thick line of pale pink. There's no way this little fellow won't grow up to know his sensitive side.

All folded and ready to go.. Well after a quick repair of one of the seams that failed in the wash.  (Oops).

I have finished with the first granny square project and will blog about it soon. It is a very wet weekend in Victoria and in the warmth of our lounge room the next granny square project is well and truly underway.

Cheers!
